Download Indic fonts for Windows 7, 8 and Xp

Would like to write at Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox in your regional language? If yes, then this post is right place for you.

You can write in your regional language through Indic fonts, which are developed by Microsoft Corporation. These scripts are currently available in Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu languages. By downloading this fonts on your windows operating system, you can write in all above said languages easily.

How to download Indic fonts in your Windows OS:
  • Open www.bhashaindia.com website
  • Click on "Download" link at top menu
  • There are several options including Web version, Windows 7, 8, Vista and XP (for both 32 and 64 bit OS)
  • Click on link which is most suitable for you (e.g. Gujarati for Windows 7, 32 bit)

Instruction for setup:
  • Download your suitable files from above link
  • Extract zip files
  • Run file named Setup.exe by double click
  • Follow instructions, which are being shown on your screen
  • Finish the setup wizard
  • That's all.
Instructions to toggle between English and desired (E.g. Gujarati) language:
  • Open Windows word application
  • Press key Alt + Shift to enable Gujarati language
  • Press Alt + Shift again to enable English language
How to write in Indic fonts:
  • Indic is very simple fonts and you can type in this language very easily by practicing for a day or two or spending tens of hours.
  • Just open the Microsoft Word and enable Gujarati fonts
  • Press keys "Kem chho?", amazingly, you can see that screen will show proper Gujarati texts with meaning How are you?. Its really easy.
  • You can write any of above said language by transliteration.
